Auburn first-year head coach Gus Malzahn has been named the Home Depot Coach of the Year. Since 1994, the award has been decided by ABC and ESPN analysts.

Malzahn revived 12-1 (7-1) Tigers from 3-9 (0-8) as the Southeastern Conference bottom feeders in 2012 to conference champions this year. The job done by Malzahn and his staff has been one of the biggest turnarounds for a school in FBS history.

The Home Depot award is one of many honors a coach can receive. Malzahn may not be finished with his acceptance speeches yet.
